Tommy Gun Churchill mug

The photograph on this Winston Churchill mug was taken whilst Mr Churchill was on a visit to the North East of England. Whilst visiting coastal defenses near Hartlepool in Yorkshire he was given an explanation of the mechanism of the Thompson submachine gun.

The Thompson submachine gun or ‘Tommy Gun’ was popularly associated with mobsters of Prohibition Era America. The Nazis used this photograph and its gangster association to vilify Churchill.

This Winston Churchill mug is made from fine bone china mug. Dishwasher and microwave safe.
