Spitfire blueprint print
This IWM exclusive A3 sized print is based on blueprints of a Spitfire MK XIV from the Imperial War Museums collections.
The Supermarine Spitfire’s first flight was on March 5 1936 – the Spitfire has since become one of the most famous British aircraft in history. The Spitfire was built in many variants and was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft and was the only British fighter to be in continuous production throughout the war.
The first squadron to use Spitfires was 19 Squadron, based at RAF Duxford on 4 August 1938.
