Drawing inspiration from one of IWM's most iconic works, John Singer Sargent's 'Gassed,' and exploring the language patterns of AI, Deller employs text to fashion a novel description of the painting. He delves into the fundamental nature of images and the cultural viewing experience.

'Gassed' was commissioned at the end of the First World War as a symbol and memorial of the conflict. It emerged as one of the most well-known works from the war artist scheme.
