VE Day Coin

Commemorate 80 years since the end of the Second World War with this exquisite gold collectable souvenir coin. This limited-edition coin features commemorative dates and iconic images on either side, making it a timeless piece for collectors and history enthusiasts alike.

One side of the coin showcases a famous photograph of two men and two women celebrating in the fountain at Trafalgar Square on VE Day, capturing the joy and relief at the end of the war. The opposite side features HM King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth, Princess Margaret, and Prime Minister Winston Churchill on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, London, also on VE Day.

Designed by the Imperial War Museums (IWM), this coin is a tribute to the resilience and bravery of those who lived through the war. The Second World War was a global conflict involving nearly all the world's nations, with the Allies and Axis powers mobilising all resources in pursuit of total war. VE Day, 8 May 1945, marked the end of nearly six years of devastating conflict, bringing an end to immense suffering and loss.

This special anniversary coin is available for a limited time to honour the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
