Delivery

If you are ordering goods for delivery overseas you will need to pay any import duties and taxes.
*Please note from Monday 9^th December 2024 and until further notice we will not be accepting any new orders for delivery to the EU and Northern Ireland. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to resume them shortly.

Delivery charges are based on the value of your order and its destination country.

Europe is 27 European Union countries, non EU member European countries are included in Rest of the World. Prices are based on a multiple courier system, IWM will determine the courier or postal service used.

Our couriers may log customer details on their behalf as proof of delivery. This may include taking a picture of the order at the delivery address.

Important note for customers in the USA

Please note that due to the new import tariffs we are currently unable to ship goods to the USA where the order totals more than $800 (approximately £600). Any orders placed exceeding this value will be refunded. New import tariffs may apply before delivery to orders under this value. US Customs typically charges tariffs based on the country of manufacture rather than the country of export. Consequently, depending on the product's country of manufacture, the tariff you will need to pay may exceed the 10% rate applied to UK products.

It is likely that products manufactured in the People's Republic of China or Hong Kong will be treated as exempt from the $800 minimum threshold for shipments, and tariffs will apply regardless of order value.

Our couriers will contact you before delivery to arrange payment of any tariffs due to US Customs. Failure to pay the tariff by the date stated will result in the parcel being returned to us.

At this time, we are not able to advise the tariff charges at the point of checkout.

Courier Services

IWM uses a multi courier system to provide delivery.

High value items will be subject to additional security checks. These orders will not be able to be left in a safe place or with a neighbour, and must be received in person to be logged by our couriers.

IWM may supply your email and/or phone number to our courier providers to enable you to track your order, to provide further options to receive your delivery, to process import and customs fees where applicable, and for other reasons relating to delivery. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details.

If you are ordering goods for delivery overseas you will need to pay any import duties and taxes. Such taxes will be payable when the goods reach your parcel’s destination country.

If ordering outside of the UK, UK VAT will be removed during the check out process. The final value displayed and paid for does not include import duties and taxes, which will depend on your order’s destination and will be charged separately prior to delivery.

The liability for payment of such customs duties rest solely with you or the recipient and the Imperial War Museum has no control over liability for them.

Next Day Delivery

Place your order from Monday to Friday before 2pm and select the next day delivery option to receive your order on the next working day. Orders placed after 2pm on a Friday, over the weekend, or on UK Public Holidays will be delivered on the second working day. Working days are defined as Monday-Friday 8am-7pm inclusive, excluding Saturday, Sunday and UK Public Holidays.

UK Mainland only (England, Wales and Scotland, excluding Highlands and Islands and the following postcodes: GY, HS, IM, JE, KW15-17, PA49, PA60-PA75, PA78, PH30, PH41-PH44, ZE2-ZE3).

If the Next Day service is selected and your order includes one of these excluded regions or products, we will send on a priority next day service but it can't be guaranteed to arrive on the next working day.

Alcohol Deliveries

Alcohol must be signed for by a person aged 18 or older. If our couriers are in any doubt about the age of the recipient on delivery, they will request some form of ID, such as a driving licence or passport. Our couriers may apply a "Challenge 25 Policy" and so proof of age will be requested if the person receiving the products looks under 25 years old. We reserve the right to cancel the delivery if the age and identity of the recipient is in doubt.

Only available for UK delivery, excluding Northern Ireland.

Despatch

We will endeavour to despatch your goods within 1 working day (Mon-Fri), provided the goods are in stock at our Distribution Centre. Working days are defined as Monday-Friday 8am-7pm inclusive, excluding Saturday, Sunday and UK Public Holidays. 

•    UK customers: You should expect to receive your goods within 2 – 3 working days of the date of placing your order. 
•    Europe and the rest of the world customers: You should expect to receive your goods within 10 – 21 working days of the date of placing your order and dependent on its destination.

In exceptional circumstances, part or all of your order may be not be available. In these instances, we will refund you for the item(s) we cannot fulfil, and contact you to confirm our actions.
