While there is tea there is hope ginger biscuits

Scottish butter shortbread packaged in a drum with the 'While there is tea' print

Designed by IWM

By the end of 1914, lines of trenches wound across the Western Front. In these miserable, deadly, and muddy places, soldiers found tea a morale booster and a fond memory of home. Tea was thought to be so important to the British that it was not rationed during the First World War.
