Ration Jute Shopping Bag (Food and Rationing)

Discover our large eco-friendly tote bag, crafted from sustainable jute and printed with a unique design inspired by an adult's weekly rations during the Second World War. This artwork draws from ration books and the collections display featured in the Second World War Galleries at IWM London.

When the Second World War began in September 1939, petrol was the first commodity to be controlled. On 8 January 1940, bacon, butter, and sugar were rationed. Meat, tea, jam, biscuits, breakfast cereals, cheese, eggs, lard, milk, canned and dried fruit were rationed subsequently, though not all at once. By August 1942, almost all foods apart from vegetables and bread were rationed.

Carry a piece of history and sustainability with this eco-friendly tote bag, perfect for everyday use while reducing your environmental footprint.
