This classic clock is a working replica of a sector clock, which would have been seen in RAF Duxford’s operations room.
Sector clocks were a fundamental part of Ground Controlled Interception. During the Second World War they played a significant role in the Battle of Britain and continued to be used by the RAF until the end of the Cold War.
The clock face is marked with five-minute sector teeth which enabled aircraft positions to be recorded along with the colour of the triangle beneath the minute hand at the time of sighting.
Quartz movement powered by 1 AA battery (not included).
Made from brass and pine sourced from sustainable forests.
